[Those damn eyes and that fucking face. Frank swallows and nods.]
Yeah. Of course.
[One more fond pet to his hair before he pulls back to his dresser for a spare shirt and pants. Peter's young and figuring things out. Sex is grand and all but they're looking at long term. That requires more than just a run in their other skin and a roll in the sheets.]
Here.
[Set before him. He respectfully averts his eyes.]
I'll get us some water.
[So he's not staring and appraising more than he has been.]
[ He ducks his head to try and hide his grin, the blush filling his cheeks again. The thought of doing more with Frank is tempting but he wants it to feel right for both of them. Not just get ahead of himself because he's easily excited.
And Frank deserves more consideration than that. ]
Thank you.
[ He tugs the shirt on as Frank starts to leave and the sweatpants follow. Both are too big on him but they smell like Frank and that makes them perfect. He'll forget himself for a moment and flop back onto the bed, face planting on the blankets and pillows and taking in a big suck of the scent before rolling around on it. ]
[Stepping into the small kitchen area barefoot gives him his own breather. Two cool bottles of water. Just touching them has made him realize how heated he's become. Touch between them has been so so easy. And it all started with a random meeting over pizza. Can life and fate really be that giving after so much?
Okay, Castle. Slow your roll. Peter is here and he is happy. There is a connection here. That doesn't mean they just jump right on into it. Bottles in hand, he passes through back to the bedroom.]
If I'm gonna get hurt, I want it to be doing what I think is right. And I think standing up for us is worth it. What if there were normal people in the park?
[ There was no question in that. He didn't particularly like fighting but he liked people being in danger - especially people he cared about - far less. ]
But I still don't need you getting hurt if you don't have to, okay?
[ Yes he has more of a pack now with Tony and the others than he did before but even so. He doesn't want to lose anyone else important to him. He's already had enough of that in his life and he thinks Frank could understand that sentiment. ]
[Echoing through the years and through his mind he can almost hear the same words coming from another mouth and another heart. That is what makes it so difficult to try and shake off. Frank has a ghost of a smile. He reaches out to pat Peter's leg.]
...okay.
[Since he was asked specifically. That's not a request for him to stop killing, to stop being himself.]
[ Peter smiles back before he's scooting closer and wrapping an arm around Frank's neck to pull him into a hug. He knows he can't stop Frank from... the other things he does. He's had a while to come to terms with that. But if they were going to be mates, he doesn't want the other man to be throwing himself into dangerous situations not caring about his well being.
[The motion is so fucking natural. And Frank doesn't fight it because when he holds onto Peter right back a sense of rightness falls over him. He knew he was attracted to Peter. All the brashness, smart-mouth and braininess at a distance. Knowing that he cares for other people also has made it be natural.]
Guess I don't need to ask the same of you. One of us has a sense of self-perservation.
[And it's no bullshit. Though these are things that anyone would say to try to get a sense of confidence in Frank. He studies Peter's expression. The honesty in his eyes that has really never wavered, the set of his mouth.]
You know that goes both ways, Parker. So don't you dare think for a second that that's a green light to go and act reckless. I couldn't stand to lose you.

I might need to borrow some clothes...
[ Because he's pretty sure if he's naked when they cuddle... things might go a little too fast. ]
no subject
Yeah. Of course.
[One more fond pet to his hair before he pulls back to his dresser for a spare shirt and pants. Peter's young and figuring things out. Sex is grand and all but they're looking at long term. That requires more than just a run in their other skin and a roll in the sheets.]

Okay, Castle. Slow your roll. Peter is here and he is happy. There is a connection here. That doesn't mean they just jump right on into it. Bottles in hand, he passes through back to the bedroom.]
Comfortable?
no subject
Yeah! It's a--it's a really nice bed.
no subject
Don't stop on my behalf. It really is terrific. I usually don't get too picky or wild about beds. This one was a hell of a find.
[It hardly dips as he sits down.]
no subject
I didn't mean to... start doing that. But it smells nice and feels nice and...
[ And his face feels hot again. ]
Thank you again for the clothes.
no subject
[And he'll even try and shrug that off as nothing. Frank hands him water.]
No problem. Your clothes are at home or...out there somewhere?
no subject
After a few swallows, he nods, ]
Yeah. Seemed smarter to do that.
[ And he's glad he did after all that ended up happening. ]
Did you recognize any of those wolves?
no subject
Good call.
[His expression darkens at the question.]
No... I smelled a few tracks that were familiar these days. Usually much farther from here. They didn't seem friendly to me.
no subject
You can say that again.
[ He takes another drink and licks his lips, ]
I've never seen wolves get that aggressive with strangers. I mean, we weren't in their territory or anything...
[ The park doesn't belong to anyone as far as he knows. ]
no subject
[Frank scratches his chin thoughtfully.]
As hostile as they were, they didn't engage. Pretty suspicious. If you're going to go and be rude to strangers, might as well go all the way.
[But they didn't. They were playing it safe.]
no subject
They were going to. Someone else stopped them. Remember? That other howl?
no subject
Either was a reminder of the rules or the one calling the shots.
[Sure as shit doesn't bode well either way.]
I don't think they're dumb enough to follow us.
no subject
You... weren't really going to fight them, were you?
no subject
[That's a yes, Peter. Frank takes another sip of water.]
Sure as hell not going to let some stranger come in and try to dictate what's what. More than that... not going to have them start with you.
no subject
I don't want you getting hurt over me, Frank.
[ Which is exactly why he tried to steer Frank back towards the front of the park when he saw the chance. ]
no subject
If I'm gonna get hurt, I want it to be doing what I think is right. And I think standing up for us is worth it. What if there were normal people in the park?
[An all out fucking problem.]
I know you'd have my back.
no subject
[ There was no question in that. He didn't particularly like fighting but he liked people being in danger - especially people he cared about - far less. ]
But I still don't need you getting hurt if you don't have to, okay?
[ Yes he has more of a pack now with Tony and the others than he did before but even so. He doesn't want to lose anyone else important to him. He's already had enough of that in his life and he thinks Frank could understand that sentiment. ]
Please?
no subject
...okay.
[Since he was asked specifically. That's not a request for him to stop killing, to stop being himself.]
no subject
He wants better from his future mate than that. ]
no subject
Guess I don't need to ask the same of you. One of us has a sense of self-perservation.
no subject
If you were in trouble, I would do anything to keep you safe. I couldn't forgive myself for doing anything less.
no subject
You know that goes both ways, Parker. So don't you dare think for a second that that's a green light to go and act reckless. I couldn't stand to lose you.
no subject
I know.
[ Slowly, his other hand moves up to Frank's face, fingers tracing lightly along the line of his jaw. ]
I feel the same way about you.
