[Laughing, smiling means he should do it more than. Right?]
Anyways I got to hold this angel in my arms. And kiss. And we made love. Sweet and forbidden. I don't know what that makes the two of us but Holy Father in Heaven to love is not a sin.
[Whiiiiich does get more animated and he has to relinquish his hands from his pockets to properly put his hands in prayer and cross himself.]
[ Peter watches the street for them as they cross and then goes back to watching Frank once they are back on the sidewalk, his grin getting wider before he's reaching over to give the other man a playful shove to the shoulder. ]
[Obvious, so obvious. Though he is really enjoying the light radiating off of Peter's grin even as the sun is sinking lower. Frank hardly budges at the shove.]
Nonsense.
[Though his cheeks have a slight tint to them. Frank looks around and lowers his voice.]
[ And now it's Peter's turn to get red in the face. But he's still grinning, giving breathless laughter at the words as he can't believe someone just said that about him.
He reaches up to run a restless hand through his hair, looking up at where they were, making sure they were still on the right path before he finally says, ]
You sure about the "angel" part? Because I might have to argue with you on that.
[Frank smirks as he looks away and licks his lips to start a whistle. Something to do or else he is going to say or do something really, really stupid. Who cares where they're going so long as they're together just a little longer.]
[ Peter laughs again and has to keep himself on his side of the sidewalk -- instead of moving over to wrap an arm around Frank's waist like he wants to. He shoves his hands into his pockets. ]
Yeah. You're right about that.
[ It was amazing. And he never wanted it to stop. ]
[They were wrapped up in each other's arms for most of the night before. That should be enough. So Frank just sighs and keeps smiling that smile just for Peter.]
...good to know.
[To think, if one of em were a lady they'd be canoodling without much of a problem. Not fair. Not fair a lick.]
[ Peter is grateful for the question. If only so he can distract himself from thinking about holding Frank's hand as they walk down the sidewalk. ]
Very nice. Very caring. She... uh, worries about me a lot. I know it comes from a good place but she also... she means well.
[ But he's also a little unsure of bringing a guy home. He knows Aunt May doesn't want him to get hurt but she also needs to learn to let him stretch his legs some. ]
[Just think! If the hold hands then someone's gonna get some ideas. They can't be having that.]
Yeah? What's she gotta worry about?
[The farther up the street they go, the nicer the buildings become. It's stunning. Frank hasn't passed this way in so, so long. Having the good sense to change into something more presentable is more important than before.]
[It could work out, couldn't it? They're from different neighborhoods. And plenty of people can have a relationship with work. All they have to do is be discrete. As hard as it is in this moment, Frank also feels proud that he hasn't given in to the urge to give Peter a shove just so that he could have body contact.]
...I will. Watch me. I'm not gonna play with your emotions, Peter.
[ Peter wants it to work. Wants it to work far more than he should. He's not a kid anymore. He should know that relationships can't just be built on a night of "dancing".
And yet... ]
I won't do that to you, either.
[ He means it; it's in his face as well as his voice when he looks back over to Frank. Even if it doesn't work out, the last thing he wants is to hurt the other man. ]
[Dancing, yeah. They've got an honest connection here. The sweetness and softness in Peter isn't unfounded in Frank too. And the general attraction of appearances undermine that they really have an honest liking of one another.]
And so I mean it when I say I'll come around the library after work to see you.
[To see him in person again, not a moony dreamed up version. Frank is sure he'll dream about Peter though.]
[ Peter feels his cheeks warm again but he's beyond caring if anyone else sees now. Not when he has something like that to look forward to. Among other things.
Though he still feels the need to say, ]
I hope you don't... feel uncomfortable over here. People are really nice! They aren't all snotty about things...
[The streets are more smooth. The crowd is not nearly so animated and loud. Frank still walks tall. His heart is starting to kick up with nerves. He'll meet Peter's family and be sized up. Hopefully his Auntie won't take too much offense that he kept her boy out late like this.]
If they're anything like you, then I got no worries.
[With a loving, brief shove for him.]
....I should have brought your aunt something....
[Would she know what they had done? Her only nephew didn't come home at night.]
[ Peter laughs at the shove, waving an arm at Frank, not trying to return the shove but walking a little easier than he had been. There was something both soothing and exciting to being around the other man and Peter honestly couldn't put his finger on which he felt more of. ]
[ Peter didn't think he could grin any wider but... ]
I want you to keep me.
[ Said just as low and not caring in that moment what his aunt thinks. If he was so easily taken with Frank, he can't imagine why anyone else wouldn't be, too.
The walk isn't much longer before he's pointing out the townhouse squished between two others like it but painted different colors. He takes the steps up the porch two at a time and pulls his key out to unlock the door. He doesn't get it open before May is there, swinging it open, ]
Where were you?!
[ Peter doesn't get a chance to answer before he's being pulled into a tight hug. ]
[He hopes that he can put all the fond feelings into one look. Their eyes meet and he can't embrace his love on the street or lean in to kiss and taste his smile. So it has to be a look filled with meaning.]
And I want you to keep me too.
[Stepping up to the townhouse behind Peter he is nearly taken aback by the sudden welcoming committee of one.]
Sorry about that, Ma'am. Won't happen like that again.
[ Peter can't return any embrace or give any kiss himself but the look they share, the meaning behind it is very mutual even if it's all still so new. There's something about it that already feels so deep and real.
So, despite his own nerves now, he's quick to pull away from his aunt and gesture to Frank before she can ask who he is, ]
This is Frank. I--we met last night.
[ Which is all he can really say here on the front stoop. May stares at Frank for a moment and then looks to Peter and then back to Frank. She gives a nervous sort of laugh, ]
[The love between nephew and aunt is real. She clearly cares for him. And every aggressive display of affection only means that she cares so deeply for what happens to young Peter Parker. That is something frank can wholly admire.
Though the nerves hit his stomach hard when the attention is on him.
His shirt is free of holes and as white as can be. Pants tucked in and his jacket, though not matching is at least fitted for the most part. The designated style of his hair elevates the look. Frank hopes that May doesn't see how worn his shoes are.]
Pleasure to meet you, Ma'am.
[This is his chance to try a proper meeting before it gets really, really awkward. Frank extends his hand, if he had a hat he would have removed it.]
[ Peter can see it in the other man just as he feels it hit him like a double-whammy. May looks at him again and his hand before taking it with a polite smile, ]
Likewise.
[ Peter quickly chimes in before she can ask, ]
He let me stay with him last night instead of, you know, walking around tipsy. Got to hear lots of Italian poetry.
[ May looks like she doesn't know whether to fuss at Peter for drinking or refrain from asking about what else went on. She settles for turning back to Frank with a nod, ]
Thank you for taking care of him. He can be a handful.

You are not talking about the library at all!
[ Adding, once he can stop laughing so hard, ]
What did you really say?
no subject
[Obvious, so obvious. Though he is really enjoying the light radiating off of Peter's grin even as the sun is sinking lower. Frank hardly budges at the shove.]
Nonsense.
[Though his cheeks have a slight tint to them. Frank looks around and lowers his voice.]

She worries about... other people. How they will treat me because...
[ He lowers his voice some, shrugging again, ]
...you know.
[ Implying Frank should know what he was referring to without having to say it. ]
no subject
Don't worry, you got two people to look after you now.
[The other person is looking right at him like he's the best thing in the whole damn city.]
no subject
Let's see if you still feel that way after a week.
[ He gives a weak laugh, trying to make it into a tease but he doesn't succeed all that well with it. ]

[ A beat, ]
Me.

[Speaking low. And just because May knows about Peter and his tastes... would she really approve faced with this big nosed meatball?]
If I had it my way, I'd keep you.

I want you to keep me.

[ Ignoring Peter's indignant 'hey' at that. ]
no subject
He really was no trouble at all. I'd be delighted to host again if circumstances work in our favor.
[Which sounds polite and fancy. He greatly, urgently hopes that they would. Lots of Italian poetry sounds like a euphemism.]
Peter wanted to be sure to come back at a decent hour safe and sound.
