[ Peter, now sufficiently hid under the blankets on the bed, just gives a kind of distressed noise. It's all he can manage. He can't believe this is happening. The only way this could be worse is if Mario wasn't okay with this kind of thing.

Doesn't lessen the humiliation he's feeling, however. ]

[Now that he is sort of clothed, Frank is on his feet. He gives a pat at the lump under the blankets that his date has become.]

...Can you uh... gimme an hour? Lunch will be on me.

[That was the plan originally but bumping it back some, that should be acceptable. Maybe. Oh but then would Peter think he's running?]

Franky, is Peter coming too? He can.

[Frank gives his dear friend a glare, not sure whether or not he loves him like a brother or hates him for bringing reality into the apartment so damn fast.]

[ Muffled from under the covers, ]

No, thank you.

[ He's not hungry and he's certainly not ready to even look in Mario's general direction after all this. He shifts and presses his face into the mattress, trying to will himself into fusing with it, anything to escape this situation. ]

I'm....gonna take a smoke outside. You both take your time, yeah?

[Good ol' Mario. Trying to do what's right. Frank grumbles and looks from his friend's back to the lump he was making love to.]

Thanks. I'll be seeing you soon.

[And with that, that's one Italian at the door.]

You can come out now, Peter. We're alone again.

[The morning light is less rosy and more garish feeling. Frank stands with his arms crossed. The erection he had is long gone. Is the spell broken? Is this the part where things stop being wonderful?]

[ Voice even more muffled now with his face pressed into the mattress. ]

No, I'm fine. I'll just--stay here. For the rest of my life.

[Frank sighs heavily and crouches at the bedside.]

I know you don't mean you wanna move in so soon. ...It's a nice idea.

[ Peter is grateful for the blankets even more in that moment, the idea of moving in with Frank making him blush for a whole new reason and then his stomach turns. He moves his head to look at the inside of the comforted in Frank's general direction. ]

I... don't think I could do that even if I wanted to.

[ Wouldn't it be too suspicious? Too dangerous? One room, one bed. People would catch on quick. ]

[They have only just met after all. And for all points and purposes thus far it's a fling. Propriety is not something on Frank's mind. It should be. All this time he's been alone in the city, waiting and longing. Peter is a light in the gloom.]

...right.

[He clears his throat and reaches out to slowly lift the comforter.]

Y'don't have to go anywhere for now. I mean. If you want to stay. I'm going out with Mario awhile. I was hoping to walk you home.

[That's what gentlemen do.]

[ As much as Peter could privately wish this could be more than just a fling, he tells himself he's made peace with the idea since last night. That this is only a one-time thing and that he would go on his way come morning.

It would be unreasonable to expect anything more.

Which is why he laughs slightly at the notion of Frank walking him home. Not meanly, more surprised. ]

Walk me home? You don't have to do that...

I'd like to. If you'd let me.

[Which could very well be a no. The comforter aside, he can see Peter's face. Mussed hair and those same eyes that got him like a well aimed dart.]

Listen. [He sucks in a breath, eyes looking away to the window and the morning. The whole city outside and then the interior of this tiny apartment before drifting back to the other man's features.] I really, really like you.

[ Peter feels himself smile more at the idea. It's... sweet. Unexpected. Very gallant in a time when most guys just brush him off or literally push him out of the way.

Yet he finds himself holding his breath, waiting for Frank to finish his statement, waiting for the other shoe to drop. For him to tell Peter this was it. To just act like he didn't know him if he saw him again on the street. So, when he hears pretty much the opposite, his breathes out a breath he hadn't known he was holding.

His own admission almost stumbles out too fast: ]

Me too. I mean, you. I like you.

A lot.

[ Calm down, Parker. ]

[The air seems thinner, and the space seems smaller. There's no one else here in the room, in the world. Frank slowly smiles. No other words attached to Peter's confession. No further conditions.]

Maybe we could meet up again...? Sometime soon?

[The details they'll have to work out. The sentiment, to hear someone else say not only that they like him but want to see him again.]

[ Peter only grins more before he's finally moving from pressing himself flat against the mattress, scooting over and then pushing himself up on his knees enough to sling an arm around Frank's neck. And pulls him into a kiss.

That's a yes. Very much yes. ]

[His surprise doesn't stop him from responding for long. Frank's arms come around to hold Peter's torso just in case he loses balance. There's the same amount of enthusiasm.]

If you...uh... if you wait here, I'll take you home. So then I'll know where to find you.

[Where he can try and just casually pass, lie about being in the neighborhood. In a simple age where places might be faster and more accessible than phones. Frank doesn't have a phone. But there is one in the lobby of his apartment.]

[ His nose brushes against Frank's, ]

You don't mind me sleeping in your bed when you're not here?

[ Because if he's going to wait, he's definitely going to fall asleep. ]

[His brown eyes open and he stays crouched and close.]

I don't mind. ...you can read if you want. It's not terribly exciting in here. The best I do is read and sleep.

[The very idea of Peter here when he comes back, keeping the bed warm. ...that's a pleasure Frank has never dared to imagine before. Simple. Sweet. Real. That's what sweethearts do.]

[ Being allowed to sleep in someone else's bed like this, them wanting to walk you home, want to see you again. Those were all things a sweetheart did in Peter's mind.

The idea makes him press another kiss to Frank's lips, quick, chaste. ]

I'm so tired sleep is all I can do.

[Quick, close lipped and modest compared to all the kissing they've done. It still makes Frank's heart flutter.]

Rest. When I'm back we'll figure out what's next.

[The arms around him pull him closer and tighter one more moment before moving back with a pace like molasses. And just before he's out of reach, Frank thinks again to press a kiss to Peter's forehead before he tears himself away to finish dressing.]

[ Peter enjoys the slow pace, feeling his body respond to it again lazily. He's glad the lower half is still covered as he lays back down on the bed. Slowly rolling back onto his belly, he pulls the covers up over his head again. Watching Frank get dressed was just as much a turn on as watching him undress.

Ugh, he had it bad. ]

[Bright eyes on him makes it a little hard to get going. He's kept Mario waiting long enough. Knowing that Peter will be here when he gets back, that's a priceless feeling. Frank touches over Peter's head when he's finally looking more presentable.]

[Which is close to three hours. Enough time for lunch, for explanations and apologies on both sides. And plenty of time for Frank to moon over just how taken he is with the guy. Yeah, he's falling hard and fast. So much so that he gets a pastrami sandwich to go.]

[ There's a muffled "bye" from Peter but he doesn't go anywhere. He stays in the bed for the most part. Eventually, he shoves the covers down and gives himself a slow handjob, daydreaming that Frank is there, watching him. Still very nake, on another man's bed, alone in his apartment. Something about it just turns him on to where he comes again.

He has to go to the bathroom to clean himself off but once he does, he goes back to the bed, curling up for another nap. ]

[Frank isn't sure what he was expecting as he came up the stairs. He knew that Peter said he would stay in bed likely. They had a long night after all. There's a cold sliver of doubt in his chest that maybe, just maybe he changed his mind. It's dashed by the ghost of a kiss on his mouth.

He unlocks the door and steps in. And like a daydream come true, there's Peter sleeping. Frank sets down the brown sack lunch bag and slips off his shoes. He's pulled to the bed like a magnet.]

[ Peter shifts on the bed when the door is opened, rolling onto his back in his sleep, but not waking up just yet. He's still naked under the sheets, the thought of getting dressed not even crossing his mind. Not when he told Frank he'd still be here when he got back. ]

[He keeps his movements slow, lowering himself over Peter. His arms are braced on either side of his shoulders. The first thing that happens is a light, feathery kiss to his nose, his cheek. By the time he reaches his mouth, Frank presses his torso down. The bedsheets and clothes separate them.]

[ Peter smiles in his sleep at the light kisses, only waking when Frank's lips touch his own. He hums softly into the kiss as his eyes slowly open. He smiles up at Frank, ]

Is it really you? Or am I dreaming again?
